Welcome. I am Otis Togbah Tarwoe, founder of the Visionary School of Leadership and Development. I started this institution with a singular mission: to cultivate leaders who are not only skilled and knowledgeable, but also ethical, courageous, and committed to creating lasting impact in their communities, nations, and across the globe. After fourteen years of civil crisis in Liberia, I grew up in the small city of Gbarnga, a community and a nation that often proclaimed, “Youth are the future.” Yet I believed the future is now.

I understood that waiting for tomorrow would only allow opportunities to pass by. It was in this context, amidst the challenges of post-conflict Liberia, that a dream began to take shape, a dream to build leaders who do not wait for change, but take action today to lead and transform their communities. That dream became the Visionary School of Leadership and Development.

The Visionary School of Leadership and Development was officially established on February 6, 2019, as a beacon of leadership, innovation, and empowerment. I envisioned a place where young Africans could grow, not just academically, but holistically — intellectually, emotionally, and ethically. My vision was to create a space where leaders are nurtured to think strategically, act decisively, and lead with integrity. From this vision, the school has grown to touch lives across Africa and beyond, shaping a new generation of leaders ready to make a global impact.

Our mission is clear: to empower young leaders with the knowledge, skills, and values to address real-world challenges while creating sustainable change. Leadership is not a privilege reserved for a few; it is a responsibility that can be cultivated, nurtured, and exercised by anyone committed to making a difference. At the Visionary School, we do not simply teach leadership — we transform individuals into catalysts for progress, equipped to lead in their communities, industries, and nations.

From our base in Liberia, with strategic international connections in Kigali, Rwanda, one of Africa’s most dynamic hubs of growth and innovation — the school has positioned itself as a platform for global leadership. We are building an institution that transcends borders, shaping leaders who are as comfortable navigating global challenges as they are local realities. My long-term vision is nothing short of ambitious: to establish the Visionary International University, a premier African institution recognized globally for its excellence in leadership development, entrepreneurship, and professional transformation.

The school offers two flagship programs designed to meet leaders at different stages of their journey:

1. The Emerging Leader Program– an intensive 4-week training focused on strategic leadership, personal growth, entrepreneurship, and essential skills for aspiring leaders. This program prepares participants to step confidently into leadership roles while cultivating the mindset required to innovate and inspire.
2. The Executive Graduate Program– a rigorous 12-week professional program designed for mid-level and senior professionals seeking to scale their impact and excel in organizational leadership. Through applied learning, mentorship, and real-world projects, participants develop strategic insight, resilience, and influence necessary to lead complex teams and initiatives.

Since its inception, the Visionary School of Leadership and Development has trained and certified over 20,000 leaders from 13 countries, including Liberia, Nigeria, Rwanda, Ghana, Cameroon, Kenya, the United States, Namibia, Sierra Leone, Togo, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Our alumni are not only highly skilled but also deeply committed to using their knowledge to create meaningful change. Growing up in post-conflict Liberia, I witnessed firsthand how young people were often told to “wait their turn” while the world around them seemed stagnant. I rejected that notion. I believed that the future does not wait, and that today’s youth must be empowered to act, to lead, and to transform. It was from this conviction that the Visionary School was born: a place where leadership is actionable, immediate, and impactful.

Our approach combines hands-on projects, mentorship from experienced leaders, and a curriculum that bridges theory with real-world application.
